Berryman Lace Mawer Solicitors have purchased seven A1 photographs which have been framed for their new offices in Charlotte Place,  Southampton. They all celebrate the vibrant life of  Southampton and are displayed along the corridors from the reception area.

Joe has developed a process of weaving photographs together  and two of these images are exhibitied in an exhibition called ‘Re-imagining Treasures of Hyde Abbey’. The exhibition is spread over three venues – Winchester Cathedral, Winchester Discovery Centre and The Link Gallery at The University of Winchester. The exhibition runs from 15th Feb until 18th April 2010. This has led to a new body of artwork that is still emerging. Examples of the woven photographs can be seen in the portfolio section of this website under ‘Fine Art’.

Oxford architects commissioned Joe to photograph a new unit at Broadmore high security hospital. Broadmore’s security dictates no camera’s on site, so he was presented with a very rare opportunity to use his camera at such a location. The wonder is, they let him out again!

Joe’s entry in Southampton City Art Gallerys’ Open Art Exhibition, entitled “The Art of Pattern”, won him first prize. Joe was presented with the award, (kindly donated by the late Joyce Nelms), at the private view. The images, specifically created for the exhibition, were mirrored aerial photographs of

tractor tracks in fields. By flipping the photographs, both horizontally and vertically, then reassembling them, a unique pattern was created within the overall image. As a result of this Joe has gone on to create a collection of 75 giclee prints on the same theme.

They requested further aerial photography of three more sites in Southampton and six on the Isle of Wight. In order to get the best shots, during the two hour flight, the helicopter door is removed so Joe can shoot through the hole!
